Bhutan Telecom Limited would like to offer our sincere apologies for the connectivity issues that some of customers may have experienced due to the recent shutdown of our 3G network. This change was part of our efforts to improve your experience with faster and more reliable 4G/5G services.
Most of the issues observed were found to be due to following reasons:
- Customers with 3G only SIMs
- 4G/5G users with 3G only mode selected in their handsets’ mobile preferred network
- 4G/5G users with handsets not supporting VoLTE
- 4G users with handsets supporting VoLTE but not activated/enabled either from the handset or from the system
Please visit us at customer care to activate VoLTE or if you need any assistance understanding your device compatibility with VoLTE.
For customers who have not yet replaced their 3G SIMs with 4G/5G, we encourage to do so at your convenience.
